The company
Our history
Since the late 1800’s the name Mancini has been synonymous with the highest quality winemaking, and this is not different for one of the youngest descendants, Giovanni Mancini.
Giovanni’s perseverance and commitment led to the foundation of Cantina Pedres Winery, located in the heart of Gallura, one of the most sought after wine regions in the world.
The company, located in Olbia, has been on the market since September 2002 when it launched a line of high quality products made from selected grape varietals of Gallura.
Giovanni’s daughter Antonella returned to Olbia to help her Father make his dream a success and initiated a significant investment in the improvement of production and vineyard technologies.
Following a century of providing grapes to other wineries, Cantina Pedres Winery has begun to make up for lost time, bottling wines directly on site. Wines bearing the Pedres family name were soon marketed to the international market for the first time, and continue to experience great success.
International strategy
Cantina Pedres’ business strategy calls for the expansion of its international presence. Currently, the firm distributes and sells its products in Europe, United States, Canada and Japan, with exports accounting for about 25% of sales. In order to manage the development of the usa market, Cantina Pedres has opened a new branch in Sandusky (OHIO), personally managed by Antonella Mancini. Cantina Pedres works directly with qualified importers and distributors, mainly in the Ho.Re.Ca channel (hotel, restaurant and specialized-retail sectors). The firm maintains active partnerships with all its distributors abroad in order to develop promotional activities in their markets, including:
- Wine tasting events
- Organized incentive visits for distributors and their clients
- Presentations at shows, events, and trade fairs organized by importers
- Education in wine-making techniques for distributors and other colleagues in the wine trade
- Hospitality services and guided tours in Gallura area
